SUMMARY:Culture & Cocktails: Jonathan Hager's Legacy Lives On
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the first Culture & Cocktails of 2026\, celebrating Jonathan Hager’s 287 Year Legacy in Washington County! \n\n\n\nJoin us on Friday\, January 9\, from 6:00-8:00 PM\, as Matthew Penrod presents our first Culture & Cocktails program of 2026\, “The 287 Year Legacy of Jonathan Hager Still Lives.” \n\n\n\nDuring this historical talk\, Matthew Penrod\, historian and Hager House guide\, will examine the myriad of ways Jonathan Hager’s leadership and vision have affected the growth and success of Washington County since he first bought his property here in 1739. Learn about Hager’s origins\, from his years as a teenage immigrant to becoming the founder of a town that has boomed and grown into a commercial and industrial powerhouse\, and one of the most important towns in Maryland. \n\n\n\nCulture & Cocktails is generously sponsored by the James & Mary Schurz Foundation. C&C is held on the second Friday of each month from 6:00-8:00 PM. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Refreshments and one complimentary drink ticket are included with each ticket. \n\n\n\nThis month’s cocktail is inspired by historical 18th century drinks! \n\n\n\nFor tickets\, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/culture-cocktails-jonathan-hagers-legacy-lives-on-tickets-1974983385471?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl or call the WCHS Offices at (301) 797-8782 to reserve or purchase tickets.
