Culture & Cocktails: Remembering Clara Barton
September 8, 2023 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Clarissa Harlowe Barton was a hospital nurse during the Civil War, a teacher, and a patent clerk. Today she’s best remebered as the nurse who founded the American Red Cross.
On Friday, September 8, join Assistant Secretary for the MD Dept. of Commerce Tom Riford and Sculptor Toby Mendez as they share exciting developments about the Clara Barton Memorial sculpture to be erected on the Hagerstown Cultural Trail near City Park.
This month’s cocktail is the Red Cross, a red colored drink for the non-profit Barton founded. Doors open at 5:30 PM and light hors d’ oeuvres will be served!
Culture & Cocktails 2023 has been made possible by the generous support of the James and Mary Schurz Foundation of Williamsport, MD.
