Culture & Cocktails: Railroads of Washington County

March 11 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Quench your thirst for knowledge with the Washington County Historical Society!

Do you know why Hagerstown is called “Hub City?” The railroad arrived in Western Maryland in 1834, and the nickname “Hub City” stems from the large number of railroads that passed through Hagerstown, which was a principal stop for the Western Maryland, Baltimore and Ohio, Chesapeake and Ohio, Norfolk and Western, and Pennsylvania railroads.

On Friday, March 11th, join us in welcoming Randy Anderson for an exploration into Washington County’s railroad history! The featured cocktail will be: The Blue Train! Named for the trains that run through Washington County Maryland, this tangy concoction contains gin, lemon juice, and blue curaçao!

Culture & Cocktails 2022 has been made possible by the generous support of the James and Mary Schurz Foundation.
