Culture & Cocktails: Fairchild Aviation

June 10 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Quench your thirst for knowledge with the Washington County Historical Society!

Founded in 1925 by Sherman Fairchild, Fairchild Aviation moved to Hagerstown in 1931. Prior to World War II, Fairchild Aircraft was contracted by the United States government to take aerial photographic surveys of the US in order to track soil erosion. During World War II, Fairchild Aviation produced countless planes for the war effort.

On Friday June 10th, join us in welcoming Kurtis Meyer, Curator of the Hagerstown Aviation Museum, for an exploration into Hagerstown’s rich aviation history! This month’s featured cocktail is: Aviator Fuel! A lemonade-based drink, this concoction is perfect for Summer!

Culture & Cocktails 2022 has been made possible by the generous support of the James and Mary Schurz Foundation.
