Culture and Cocktails: 1955 Fairchild National Sports Car Races
November 13 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Enjoy a drink and have a think! At Culture & Cocktails, we tackle a historical topic with the help of a little liquid fortitude.
On Friday, November 13th at 6:00 P.M., over Zoom, join us in welcoming Frederick W. Schroeder VI, a vintage sports car enthusiast and amateur racer, for a “deep-drive” into the Fairchild National Sports Car Races, which occurred at the Hagerstown Regional Airport on Sunday, October 16, 1955! Learn more about the event that brought nearly 15,000 sports car enthusiasts from across the U.S. to Hagerstown, and drew more than 200 eager participants. Then, listen as we do a Q&A with Fred, an expert on the Fairchild National Sports Car Races.
The featured cocktail will be: the Le Mans! Named for the site of the world’s oldest active endurance sports car race, this sweet, tangy, orange flavored concoction is sure to get your engine revving!
