Enjoy a delightful Sunday afternoon in the parlors of the Miller House Museum at one of our wonderful winter lectures! All genealogists love a good obituary, but newspapers are generally underutilized by family historians. Join the Washington County Historical Society as we welcome Mary Mannix, head of the Maryland Room, to discuss the other death information that can be found in papers and the methodology for locating newspapers and newspaper content. We will also talk about what makes a good obituary and how to plan for your own moment of fame. Please note: Our original speaker for the January lecture, Dr. Robert Savitt, has had a conflict come up, and will be speaking on this topic at a later date. If you have already purchased tickets for this event, we will be in contact about your options!Find out more »
