Family Workshop: Soap Making

Learn how to make soap in this fun family activity at the Miller House Museum! Adults and children alike will be able to select colors, scents, and decorations to create their own signature bar of soap! The materials fee is good for making 1 bar of soap. Additional materials may be purchased ahead of time or at the event. Our family workshops are open-house style! Feel free to come any time between 11-2: it won't take the whole 3 hours to complete the craft.

Culture & Cocktails: Cline & Wine

Enjoy a drink and have a think! At Culture & Cocktails, a lecture program at the Miller House Museum, we tackle a historical topic with the help of a little liquid fortitude. In August, we're shaking up the Culture & Cocktails routine with some live entertainment! Did you know that everyone's favorite country darling was a local native? Learn more about the Winchester girl and enjoy live music from a Cline impersonator! Weather permitting, this event will be held in the museum gardens, and a food truck will be onsite to offer a selection of food for purchase. Your ticket price will include your first drink, and refills will be available for a small fee. This event is for adults ages 21 and older, please! Movies at the Museum: The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly

Join us at the Miller House for a good, old-fashioned movie night! We'll provide the movie and the popcorn, so come get cozy in our parlors and enjoy a night at the museum! Water, sodas, and additional snacks will be available for a small fee. Please note that some of the movies shown may not be appropriate for younger audiences! August's film will be: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Join us for a showing of a classic Western. Cowboy boots & hats encouraged!

WCHS Farm to Table Dinner – September

Explore Maryland's rich culinary heritage at our one of a kind farm to table dinners! Each unique dinner sources its ingredients from some of the area's premiere farms, bakeries, and dairies, crafted by expert local chef Thomas O'Hara. Each course is paired with some of the best beverages on offer from Maryland's wineries and breweries. Enjoy your meal in the intimate setting of the beautiful Miller House Gardens as we pair local history and local dining for the summer's finest dining experience. Each of our farm to table dinners offers several courses: a sharable appetizer platter, a light first entree or salad, a main entree, and dessert. The courses are paired with your choice of local wine or beer. We work to provide alternatives for those with food allergies and sensitivities, so please notify the staff of any food requirements at the time when you purchase your tickets. Reservations are required. Menu will be released prior to the end of July. All produce provided by Milk & Honey Farms.

Help us welcome special guests from Sharpsburg Civil War Ghost Tours in September! We'll be mixing thrills, chills, and history as the talented Brughs take us through some of Antietam Battlefield's most notorious ghost stories.The specialty drink will be: The Gravedigger. This potent concoction of tequila, mezcal, and pear liqueur, topped with a smiling skull ice cube, is sure to make your hair stand on end!
